Tomoe Sato was born in Tokyo, Japan and began her piano studies at the age of four with Mika Sakai. She studied at Music Course of Kano High School (2002-2005), then at Toho Gakuen School of Music (2005-2009), where her major teachers were Gen-ichiro Murakami and Kazuo Nagano. After receiving her Bachelor degree of Music from Toho Gakuen School of Music in 2009, she continued her piano studies with Victor Rosenbaum at Mannes College The New School for Music (New York), and Tomoe obtained her Master of Music degree in May 2012. She won several prizes at competitions and auditions; encourage award in Japan Piano Teacher Association Piano Audition (2003), encourage award in Tokyo International Association of Artists Audition (2007), the third place in Gifu International Music festival, sixth place in 12th Great Wall of China’s Competition that were held in Tokyo (2009). She performed at Tokyo International Association of Artists Audition, 25th Gifu New Talent Concert in Japan. She appeared in numerous concerts throughout New York and Japan which include German consulate, and Weill recital Hall/Carnegie Hall.
